The CEP program is designed for professionals who plan events as part of their role, aspiring event planners, administrative professionals, marketing professionals, and entrepreneurs who want to strengthen their event planning expertise.
Your development continues beyond the initial certification. CEP is a four-year professional development program that includes renewal training at the two- and four-year milestones, leading to CEP Alumni status and lifetime recognition.
The 2-Year CEP Renewal builds on your initial certification with advanced training in event strategy, client relations, crisis management, and emerging industry trends. Complete your renewal to continue developing your expertise and maintain your active CEP credential.
The 4-Year CEP Renewal is the final phase of the Certified Event Planner Professional Development Program, with advanced training in leadership, event strategy, industry trends, and business growth. Upon successful completion, you earn CEP Alumni status with lifetime recognition, with no additional renewal requirements.
The CEP is a four-year professional development program. After completing the initial certification training, CEP professionals complete renewal training at the two-year and four-year milestones. Yes. The Certified Event Planner (CEP) credential is recognized by employers throughout the United States and in more than 32 countries. For more than 20 years, CEP professionals have used their training across corporate, nonprofit, higher education, hospitality, and entrepreneurial environments. Many CEP professionals also continue their professional development by pursuing the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation through the Events Industry Council.
The CEP combines practical event planning education with professional development designed to strengthen your skills in budgeting, venue selection, vendor management, logistics, event strategy, and execution. CEP professionals also have access to continued development through the program's two- and four-year renewal pathway.
